James Saba directed All in the Timing for The Globe Theatres MFA Program, The Mystery of Irma Vep at the Diversionary Theatre, and Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol at North Coast Repertory Theatre. In addition James directed The Philadelphia Story and Lucky Stiff at Webster University in St. Louis, and Two Rockin’ Gents, Sylvia, and over 20 other young theatre for young audience prodctions at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre. Under the guidance of Suzan Zeder at Southern Methodist University, he wrote A Tree With Arms (Anchorage Press). Since 1991 it has been produced throughout the country. As an actor James has appeared at The Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego Repertory Theatre, Lamb's Players Theatre, Sacramento Theatre Company, Apple Tree Theatre in Chicago, San Jose Repertory Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, and eleven seasons as an Associate Artist at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre. |

Steve Gunderson has composed scores for Dixie Highway (Robby L.A. Critics Award Best Original Score 1994), The Brontes (for San Diego Ballet), San Diego REP's '94-'96 A Christmas Carol and productions for New York's Readers Theatre Workshop. For television he provided the music for Romancing America on AMC/Romance Classics Network and the opening theme for Country Inns. He has also written and produced commercial jingles and music for film. He co-wrote the book and arranged the music for Suds, starred in the New York, San Francisco and San Diego productions, and directed productions in Calgary and Sarasota. A member of the Dramatists Guild, he co-created (with Kathy Najimy) and arranged the score for Back To Bacharach & David and starred in the off-Broadway production. As an actor he has had major roles in productions at the Pasadena Playhouse, the Canon Theatre (LA), the Alliance Theatre (Atlanta), the Alex Theatre (LA), the Center Repertory Theatre and the Phoenix Little Theatre. New York acting credits include Forever Plaid, Butley and Street Scene. San Diego audiences know him as Sparky in Forever Plaid (Theatre In Old Town), Papa Who in How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Globe Theatres) and roles in San Diego REP's The Mad Dancers (directed by Todd Salovey) and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. |
