Two Rockin’ Gents is the rock and roll adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Originally written in 1595, this version transports its audience to 1959. The show incorporates live renditions of several hits of the 1950’s (and early 60’s). The text has been edited and rearranged, but it has not been updated or rewritten. Songs are sung by characters within scenes, and used for transitions between scenes (usually by a three-member doo-wop group). Songs are performed live and backed by a five-piece ensemble of on-stage musicians.
